Malang, May 27th 2017

            International Midwifery Day is one of the work programs of the ARMABI External Relations Department. This event is held to commemorate International Midwife Day which falls on May 5 with another aim is to improve friendship among undergraduate, graduate, alumni and academic students of Midwifery Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawiaya and Midwifery Institution in Malang. This year’s event was created with the theme “The World Needs Midwives Now More Than Ever”. The International Midwifery Day series consists of Opening Badminton Competiton and Main Event.

    The Opening Badminton event was held on May 1, 2017 at Rajabasa Square, Jl.Rajabasa, Sukun. The event was enlivened by a Badminton Game Between Students Batch 2014, 2015, 2016, Civitas Akademika S1 Midwifery FKUB and Midwifery Institutions in Malang. Meanwhile, the Main event was held On May 27, 2017 at Graha Medika Building, Second Floor, Faculty of Medicine Universitas Brawijaya. The event was attended by Students 2014, 2015, 2016, civitas Academic S1 Midwifery FKUB and other Midwifery Institutions. Its main events are make up competitions, fashion shows, ngabuburit and bazaar.

         The event started with remarks by the chief executive, the chairman of ARMABI, and the representative of the academic civitas S1 Midwifery FKUB. After that, there is a video playback of the class and there are also intriguing class performances such as Vocal Group, Traditional Dance, Modern Dance, Musical Drama and Acoustics. Besides, there was also an award ceremony for students and lecturers as part of UB Faculty of Midwifery S1 program. One of the objectives of this event is to commemorate IMD 2017 is to develop the interest and talents of students and academics in the field of sports and arts and to foster a sense of togetherness among Students, Alumni and S1 academic midwifery FKUB and Midwifery Institutions in Malang. Hopefully next year’s event can run well with more lively celebrations.
